Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding System
Tagish's DOLS is a case management solution to allow Local Authorities and PCT's to carry out their supervisory duties under the regulatory framework of the Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards as introduced by the Mental Health Act 2005. Building on the success of other case management solutions in the iCasework family, not least its complaints management solution for Social Care providers, iCasework DOLS sets out to provide authorities with user friendly, effective tools for managing both the register of authorisations and the casework arising from this. The system offers the following key functions:
Supports the full authorisation lifecycle
iCasework DOLS has been designed around the Department of Health code of practice and implementation guidelines for supervisory bodies. Full support is provided for all tasks arising from the prescribed process such as: recording; management; monitoring and reporting of both urgent and standard authorisations; assessment; requests for review; appointment of representatives; and suspensions. All granted authorisations are fed into a queryable knowledge base of authorisations which is easily accessible by authorised social care practitioners.
Full workflow capability
All authorised staff can easily access case files and authorisation registers as all information, including forms, is kept in one place. Built in configurable workflow with notifications and alerts ensures that timescales are met, and cases progress smoothly to resolution, as everyone involved in the case knows what actions are due and when. Overdue tasks are escalated to managers as and when required.
Email integration
Forms are automatically loaded from emails and faxes received. Correspondence may be sent by email whilst assessors and other parties involved in processing cases are automatically alerted of new and overdue tasks. Any incoming replies to emails are automatically loaded against the correct case.
